Lord Janner to appear in Court for historical abuse allegations

We have covered the case of Greville Janner, the former Labour MP and Lord who has been charged with historical sex offences following a CPS review of their original decision that it was not in the public interest to prosecute him.

On 7th August 2015, he is to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in relation to these allegations.

It is likely that the case will be sent to the Crown Court where a Judge will later conduct a ‘Fitness to Plead’ hearing – a hearing to judge whether he will be able to take part in a trial – we have a fact sheet on this here.

As it is an ongoing case, we won’t comment on it too much, but will obviously keep out eye on what happens in this controversial case.
